Berlac AG gratified by positive tradeshow results

26.10.2011|

After attending the tradeshow in Friedrichshafen for the fourth time this year, Berlac AG can look back over a positive showing at Fakuma 2011. The company, which is based in Sissach near Basel, Switzerland, fielded a stand reflecting its new corporate design and presented a wealth of first-hand information on the latest developments in the realm of sophisticated plastic coating solutions. Under the motto “WE ADD VALUE TO YOUR PRODUCTS”, members of the Berlac staff were on hand to answer questions concerning added value, sustainability and functionality for plastic surface treatment.

Fakuma 2011 saw Berlac AG present an exhibition programme over a display area of 42m2 tailored in all respects to the motto “WE ADD VALUE TO YOUR PRODUCTS”. Its prime areas of focus were the following:

  • mirror-gloss chrome effects with simple paint coating
  • combined coating technology utilising PVD metalising and paint for unlimited design potential thanks to top coats that can be coloured to individual specifications
  • combined coating technology utilising galvanising and paint to produce perfect and inexpensive surfaces that look like ordinary or precious metals, plus elegant dark chrome effects based on conventional chrome-galvanising coupled with clear lacquers that can be coloured as required
  • ultra-flexible screen-printing inks that are ideal for subsequent deep drawing and stamping for inexpensive two-dimensional applications
  • ultra-elastic coating systems for closed operating surfaces in elastomeric materials, laserable for day-night applications, such as switches on steering wheels and dashboards
  • economical and ultra-resistant 1-coat UV clear coatings, coloured, with an appearance similar to piano lacquer for an elegant high-gloss finish
  • durable metallic water-based UV lacquers
  • functional surfaces, including FDA-approved antibacterial and biocompatible coating systems

Berlac AG hit the nail well and truly on the head with the focus of its showing this year, fully meeting the current interests of visitors to the stand, who were composed mostly of major existing customers and a large number of important new contacts. Once again, Berlac AG demonstrated that it has a good nose for recognising new trends in their earliest stages.

The Berlac stand featuring the new corporate design

Decorated for the first time in line with the new corporate design, the Berlac AG stand at this year’s Fakuma came in for a host of compliments not only from visitors but from neighbouring exhibitors, as well. The concept represented the practical implementation of the change to the Berlac AG trademark made at the beginning of the year (for close on twelve months now, the well-established company name has appeared in tandem with the Berlac Group umbrella brand image – a sphere with a stylised reflection) and reflects the corporate presence that is now uniform throughout the Group. Its use of a purely architectonic design without graphics in very reduced yet extremely harmonious colours focused attention on the relatively small number of items on display, which all appealed to the senses and ideally showcased possible product applications.

Josef Zerle, who has served as CSO (Chief Sales Officer) of the Berlac Group since 1 October 2011, expressed considerable satisfaction with the company’s performance at the exhibition and described Fakuma 2011 as an ideal platform for presenting both the latest Berlac technologies and the new corporate design to existing and potential new customers alike.

Fakuma 2011 not only clearly upheld its role as the leading European tradeshow for the plastics processing sector, but succeeded in significantly developing its importance: some 44,800 visitors from 30 countries profited from Fakuma 2011 to gain more information on 1,670 exhibitors over a display area of 85,000 m2 presenting machinery, equipment, peripheral devices, tools, accessories, semi-finished goods, plastic products, auxiliaries, raw materials and associated services.
